The Yummiest Breakfast Omelet

The Yummiest Breakfast Omelet

Omelets are one of those foods that you can eat any time of day for a delicious and healthy meal. The best part is that the ingredients that go into an omelet are so simple that they are almost always lying around in our fridges. While eggs are delicious just scrambled up on their own, by adding a few key veggies to an omelet you’ll be able to create a nutritious meal that will keep you craving more. Here’s what you’ll need:

2 eggs
A handful of baby spinach
1 small chopped red onion
½ chopped green bell pepper
2 table spoons of mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons of olive oil
½ tablespoon milk
3 teaspoons of salt

The best part about omelets is that you can make them in a variety of ways: either stuffed or mixed. A stuffed omelet is when all of the fillings are folded into the center of the egg. A mixed omelet is when all of the ingredients are mixed together and fried. To make the omelet folded follow this method:

Mix the eggs, milk, and salt together. Whisk the mixture until the eggs become slightly frothy. This will ensure a fluffy omelet. After it has been mixed, heat the two tablespoons of olive oil on a skillet or frying pan. Make sure the oil is hot before putting the egg mixture into the pan, otherwise it will stick. Once the oil is heated and the eggs have been placed in the pan, only flip the eggs after they have been cooked completely, otherwise your omelet will break into pieces. Once the eggs are about 80% cooked on both sides place the toppings on one side of the egg and fold the egg in half. The toppings will warm up in the middle and the cheese will melt. This will give you the perfect stuffed omelet! You can serve it with toast or on its own and have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Feel free to try it out with different ingredients, you can include mushrooms, tomatoes, meat, or even top it off with salsa! The possibilities are endless!
