How to Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are a perennial favorite. The texture of the soft cookie with gooey milk chocolate melting in your mouth is perhaps one of the most delicious things you will ever taste. Not only do these cookies evoke memories of childhood, they make for the perfect snack anytime of the day (especially with a glass of milk!). With all of the options available for pre-made cookies, it can be tempting to just pick up a packet at the local supermarket and skip the process of making them at home. However, you’re seriously missing out if you think the taste of supermarket cookies can match those of freshly baked, homemade cookies. Next time you find yourself craving these delicious treats, here’s what you’ll need to whip them up:

1 cup of softened butter

1 cup of white sugar

1 packed cup of brown sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

3 cups of all purpose flour

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon of salt

2 cups of chocolate chips


Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit so that it’s ready to go as soon as your cookie dough is mixed.

In a bowl cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth.

Add in your eggs one at a time.

Now add in the vanilla extract.

Dissolve the 1 teaspoon of baking soda in two teaspoons of hot water and add the dissolved mixture to the dough along with the salt.

Now, slowly begin to stir in the flour. Mix well and then add in your chocolate chips.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and begin to place spoonfuls of your dough onto the sheet. Use an ice cream scoop if you have one to ensure that the cookies are perfectly round!

Now bake your cookies in the oven for around 10 – 15 minutes and enjoy!
