One of our absolute favorite cookies of all times is sugar cookies. Mmm, don’t they just want to make you fall in love? Sugar cookies are such a fun way to bake with that special someone. Throwing a surprise Valentines dinner? Place these cookies on the table and watch them be devoured before you can grab one yourself! This recipe is one of the most incredibly easy cookie recipes to make and are so mouthwateringly good. The most fun part about these are the decorating, it’ll be an amazing way to have the family bonding and having fun! If you’re looking to make these delicious cookies than keep on reading. The ingredients include:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter at room temp
- ½ teaspoon of baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Sprinkles, icing, etc.
Grab a large bowl and begin whisking the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix your butter and sugar with an electric mixer until the batter has become fluffy. Add in your egg and vanilla while mixing on low. Begin to slowly add in your flour, baking powder, and salt mixture and beat until all of your mixture has been combined. Once done grab your dough and divide in half. Wrap each piece in plastic and place into freezer for at least 20 minutes. Once your 20 minutes have passed begin to preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Grab your baking sheet and line them with parchment. Begin to roll your dough until flat and thin, applying flour onto the dough when needed. Bring out the cookie cutters and begin making a whole bunch of magical shapes! Using a spatula pick up your cookies and place them onto your baking sheets preparing them for the oven. Bake your cookies for about 10 to 18 minutes rotating halfway through so the edges are a nice golden brown. Once you pop them out of the oven allow them to cool before you commence the decorating!
